プログラマの能力というのは、できる人とできない人の能力の開きがトンでもなく大きい場合があります。生産性が軽く5倍から10倍は違うのです。営業畑の人に話してもまったく信じてもらえないときがありますが、これが真実です。
それだけの生産性の違いがあり、できる人が早く仕事が終わる分、より多くの仕事が回ってくるとしたら、それでも同じ給料ではやっていけなくなります。ですから、適切に能力を見分け、適切な地位に就け、適切な待遇の違いを作らなくてはなりませんので、その作業たるや想像するだけで難しい問題です。
おまけに生産性の高いプログラマというのは、猜疑心が強く、独立心が高く、物事を斜めに見る傾向があり、興味があるものにはひた走り、興味がないものは驚くほどあっさり切り捨てます。
非常に困った事にたいていの場合、頭がよく、頑固で、そして多くの場合変態です。
